365 Sweatshirts

On August 20th, 2024, we installed twelve black sweatshirts on a garment rack in our treehouse. The sweatshirts range in size from XS to 2XL and are made from 400 gsm 80% organic cotton and 20% recycled polyester. These garments are designed to have a cropped, unisex fit and feature a raw bottom hem.

The sweatshirts remained the treehouse for 365 days, exposed to sun, wind, snow, rain, and a bevy of other extraneous variables. On August 20th, 2025, we brought them down from the treehouse, have them a thorough washing, and have made them available to purchase.

We began this experiment without any set expectation of the outcome, just a hunch that a well-made garment is more resilient than most people would suspect. In a way, this project is a protest against fast fashion and is a reminder that our garments are more durable than the trends that surround them.
